NUMA in Berlin with 304 new boutique apartments at 12 top locations in Germany’s largest metropolis
Berlin, 27 June 2023 – NUMA Group, the leading European operator of fully-digital boutique apartments and technology developer, is adding another 304 units to its portfolio in the German capital. With four new properties, NUMA now has a total of 12 locations in Berlin. Upon completion of the acquisitions, the new properties will be upgraded to NUMA standards, allowing NUMA to implement its digital technologies, which include proprietary operating and booking systems. NUMA will also be able to manage a whole range of processes digitally, such as check-in and housekeeping. Leveraging its innovative technology solutions, NUMA provides both a first-class guest experience and reduces operating costs by up to 60 percent. The company is targeting busy neighborhoods and key demand drivers for tourists and business travelers in European hotspots as it expands across the continent.
The first of the new NUMA properties is located at Boxhagener Straße 83, 10245 Berlin. It was built in 2012 and modernized to very high sustainability standards in 2019. The hotel has 86 apartment units. Situated in Berlin-Friedrichshain, the building stands just a few hundred meters from Boxhagener Platz, the center of one of Berlin’s most attractive and urbane neighborhoods. A variety of restaurants, bars, stores and cultural activities are all accessible within an easy walking distance. NUMA is leasing the property from a fund advised by Coros Advisory GmbH. The opening is already scheduled for this summer. In addition to NUMA Sketch and NUMA Kater, this is already the third NUMA location to open in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
The second property is a new building adjacent to the historic Kant-Garagen. The building at Kantstrasse 126, 10625 Berlin comprises 61 units and was built to the latest sustainable standards. The listed Kant-Garagen was built in 1929 as one of Germany’s first high-rise car parks. It is the only surviving German parking tower from the interwar period. The property is located in a prime area in Berlin-Charlottenburg, with Savigny-Platz and the German Opera just 10 minutes away on foot. With this acquisition, NUMA is now increasing its presence in West Berlin. These fully digital NUMA apartments will also be available to Berlin’s visitors within the next few months.
NUMA’s third new location is in Berlin-Wedding, to the north of the city center. The property, which has 89 units, expands the NUMA portfolio into a neighborhood without an existing NUMA presence. One major plus point is the easy access to public transport via the nearby Gesundbrunnen inter-city and commuter train station, which is served by long-distance and regional trains, subway, commuter trains, streetcars and buses. Some of Berlin’s best-known recreational areas, such as Mauerpark, Humboldtpark or Schillerpark, are also within easy walking distance. The new property is currently undergoing renovation and is expected to be fully upgraded to NUMA standards and ready for occupancy in early 2026. A fourth 68-unit NUMA property in Berlin has already been secured. In line with NUMA’s successful concept, it is located in a prime urban location in a popular East Berlin neighborhood.
